Make it reel

Professor Barbara Comber, at the University of South Australia, is researching the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) funded project Early school intervention as a means to improve higher education outcomes for disadvantaged students. As part of this study, a small number of case studies of interventions designed for young people in the earlier years of schooling (prior to Year 11), are being conducted. The pilot Make it Reel Cineliteracy Summer School Program conducted for Year 9 and 10 students from Priority Schools in January 2009 in conjunction with the University of Technology Sydney will be included in this study.
